LACROSSE CLINIC
Ages 6-10 (Camp Code LC)
Mon–Fri; August 2–6
Girls: 9:00–10:30

Boys: 10:30–12:00

The Little Compton Lacrosse Club, in coordination with the LC Community Center, will again offer a Lacrosse Clinic for boys and girls entering grades 3, 4, and 5 in September of 2010. Coached by Wayne Curtis, the program will focus on basic skills and drills to include catching, passing, scooping, dodging, shooting, and team play. Every practice will include a period of full field scrimmage.

SWIM CAMP

The Sakonnet Point Club is sponsoring a swim camp for Little Compton Children. The cost for the four weeks is $50 per child and offers swimming instruction in the Club’s three-season swimming pool.

TAE KWON DO CAMP

Martial Arts Educator Mardo Muralles teaches Tae Kwon Do in Portsmouth RI . He has studied Martial Arts for over sixteen years, and holds a 5th Degree Black Belt. Mardo has also studied the discipline of Aikido and incorporates it for self defense techniques.
He is the owner and head instructor of Mardo’s Tae Kwon Do academy where he personally teaches both beginning and advanced level classes.

SCULPTURE CAMP
Ages 8 - 12 (Camp Code SC)

Monday - Friday, 1- 4pm


This hands on camp is designed to offer children, ages 8-12, the opportunity to learn new ways of seeing the physical world and to encourage them to express themselves as individuals through art. By studying the icons of sculpture, students will learn how they relate as sculptors to the contemporary art world.

FUN in the Sun! Have you ever wanted to learn...
Theater, Dance, Improv, Costume Design, Set Design? Here's your chance!Sakonnet Arts Network together with the Little Compton Community Center and local performing and visual artists present Fractured Fables -a performance art camp. Fractured Fables is a week-long children?s theater camp that includes writing, rehearsing, designing and crafting sets and costumes, and performing humorous interpretations of well known fables. Artists and children will bring the reinterpreted stories to life in two performances:
Saturday, August 14, 7pm and Sunday, August 15, 2pm

Artists:
Gloria Crist is a performer, director, and member of the RI Arts Learning Network, She will manage all aspects of the production including the technical aspects.
John McKenna is a writer, musician and voice actor who will be the artistic director of the project.

SUMMERTIME MULTI-MEDIA ART
Ages 5 - 8 (Camp Code SA)

Monday-Friday 1-4 p.m.,

During this five-day workshop, children will have fun while making creative art projects that reflect summer time themes including miniature clay surf boards, musical wind chimes, “arty” kites, and painterly sunbursts. Lisa May Tobin, Instructor.
