LCCC Meal Sites

The Senior Meal Program has been serving meals to seniors at the LCCC since 1998. The program receives some funding from RI's Department of Elderly Affairs.
 
More than just a meal...
Mealtime is more enjoyable when you are with friends! The Senior Meal Program serves hot, healthy meals and gives seniors opportunities to socialize and take part in activities. You can also learn about other services that are available. There is a Senior Specialist who comes once a month and answers questions, i.e. medicare, prescriptions, homecare.

Who can participate?
Any person age 60 or older, regardless of income, and a spouse of any age can participate. Also people age 55 or older with a disability.
 
Where and when are meals served?
Meals are served Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11:30 a.m.
All meals must be reserved at least one day in advance by 12 p.m. Reservations can be made in person at the site or by phone.
 
What does it cost?
Senior citizens are given the opportunity to contribute towards the cost of each meal. The suggested contribution is $3.00 per meal.

What are the meals like?
Senior meals are planned to help you stay healthy. Menus include an entrée, vegetables or fruit, potatoes, noodles or rice, milk, bread and dessert. Coffee is also served. Low fat milk and a variety of sweetners.
 
Menus are also displayed on bulletin boards at LCCC. Monthly menu sheets can also be picked up for you to take home for a handy reference.
